409 South Main

This beautiful space in downtown Memphis, is 409 South Main. David Schuermann, the principal at Architecture, Incorporated, and brothers, Ryan and Matt Savage with Metro Construction collaborated on the project. They are doing a spectacular job keeping with the integrity of the building, built in 1912, and improving on much of the original elements. The largest feat was adding an elevator that will go all the way to the rooftop...right now it just stops on the 3rd floor! We are all still working on the first floor set to open this summer.

We can hardly find words to to tell you how much we love this space! You really must read the story of the building to fully appreciate it's current purpose!

409 was already an event space, but its new owners took raw space on the third floor and planned an expansive renovation to make it what you will see in these photos.

Here are a few pictures to show you how raw this space was and a few of the progress and of course one of my favorite event venue owners, Rebecca!

There are 3 lounge spaces on the 3rd floor, a Men's Lounge, a Private Lounge and a Women's Lounge. These lounge spaces are multi-functional! We made sure you could have your wedding, reception, prom, fundraiser, gala, ball, business lunch, you name it and it can work in this space!

One of the many sweet sides of this project was working alongside the owner of the building, we had fun incorporating her love of beauty and desire in keeping within the time frame of the building's original construction with some of the furnishings. She even incorporated some of her family belongs into the space.

The make-up bar was not in the original plan. We stole from the men's lounge and created this space. It has already become the talk of the town. The quartzite counter is snug between two beautiful built ins. One side has hanging space for bridesmaid dresses and the other is perfect for throwing in your extra bags before an event. The natural light makes this space almost flawless!

We even love the beauty, simplicity and function of the prep space for caterers!
